US Healthcare Firms Suffer Data Breaches

Healthcare entities Clover Health Investments and AngMar Management Services are informing over 250,000 individuals that their data was stolen in separate data breaches.
New Jersey based Clover Health Investments was hacked in July by actors utilizing social engineering. The organization said that the incident caused the theft of personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI). The affected data included names, birth dates, insurance identifiers as well as account identification numbers.
Texas-based AngMar Management Services detected suspicious activity on its systems in July and declared in September that hackers stole patient PII as well as PHI. The stolen data includes names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, diagnosis details, medical history data, health insurance information, patient IDs, provider names, prescription details, as well as dates of service.
