Startup Indurex has raised $8 Million in a round led by Contrarian Ventures. The former’s software detects risky changes to plant engineering and safety settings. As per a survey 22% of organizations experienced an industrial cyber incident in 2025. Most industrial cybersecurity tools observe the network. Indurex focuses at the data underneath it, the engineering settings, protection configurations and safety functions that determine whether a plant runs within safe limits. The Amsterdam startup has raised $8 Million funding led by Contrarian Ventures with Axeleo Capital and Curiosity participating.

Indurex was founded by Jalal Bouhdada, who serves as the company’s CEO, and Maarten Oosterink, who serves as COO. Bouhdada earlier founded industrial cybersecurity company Applied Risk, which assurance and risk management company DNV acquired in 2021.

We focus on the core industrial data itself: the engineering, process and safety signals that determine whether a plant is operating within safe limits. Cybersecurity and operational excellence have too often been managed as separate disciplines — Engineering Intelligence is the missing layer, and this funding allows us to bring that capability to more operators across critical infrastructure.”

As per the company the funding will be utilized for research and development and to expand its commercial operations in Europe and the Middle East, with the US and Asia-Pacific markets to follow.
