SBI Data Breach Claim

Cybersecurity account CyberPulse56 stated on X that a hacker group named ‘Siriusim’ has obtained confidential data of around 3.75 lakh SBI customers. The group claims it possesses more than 3,75,000 accounts as well as 2,722 PDF files. According to CyberPulse56 the data contains personal customer details, loan applications, supporting documents, account opening applications and addresses.

The threat party calls this as the initial disclosure of the dataset. However, the authenticity, origin as well as extent of the alleged breach have not been verified yet. If genuine, the data could be misused for identity theft, committing fraud and phishing campaigns.

The allegation was first reported on October 16, 2026. As per India Today, the hackers posted the claim on BreachForums and placed what it says are 4 sample records. The report stated that the material may contain Know Your Customer (KYC) records, Aadhaar numbers as well as residential addresses. Note that these details are still claims and not confirmed findings from a probe.

It is not known how the records in question were obtained. The latter’s source could not to be traced to SBI, any subsidiary or a service provider processing applications. The customers of SBI are urged to be vigilant and not share finance details with unverified channels.
